One day we hired a car to see more of the west and the north of Shetland mainland. Don’t ask me where the pictures were taken as we didn’t take notes (something we learned later on when we became more experienced holiday makers). One thing that shows clearly however is that my Rolleiflex SL35’s shutter was rapidly deteriorating: uneven coverage (right side of image is darker) and a light leak in the first curtain (light spot on the lower left side of the image). My other body never showed these problems but I left it at home to reduce weight.
Op een dag huurden we een auto om het uitgestrekte Westen en Noorden van het hoofdeiland te bezoeken. Vraag niet waar de foto’s gemaakt zijn, want we maakten geen aantekeningen (iets dat we pas leerden toen we meer ervaring kregen in het vakantie vieren). Wel is duidelijk dat de sluiter van mijn Rolleiflex SL35 hard achteruit holde: ongelijkmatige belichting (rechter deel is donkerder) en een gaatje in het eerste gordijn (lichte waaier links onderin het beeld). Mijn Singapore body had die problemen niet, maar die lag thuis.
