In the northern harbours there is always something to see. This time we witnessed the salvage of fishing trawler Boy Andrew, which had sunk in sight of the harbour half a year earlier. There are also photos of other ships and the waterfront, some photos of the town and the first one shows the house where we stayed. In a shed in the back garden that is, but is was okay. One evening we went to the pub where the locals became uneasy around ten o’clock and picked up their instruments. One of the best gigs we ever saw. Please pay attention to the viking boat in the harbour. Is it the same as the one you see in the police series Shetland, when Perez and Tosh are talking on the pier.
In de noordelijke havens is altijd wat te doen. Deze keer troffen we de redding van vissersboot Boy Andrew, die een half jaar daarvoor in het zicht van de haven was vergaan. Met grote luchtzakken die door duikers aan de boot waren vastgemaakt kwam de boot omhoog waarna hij naar het dock kon worden gesleept. Er zijn ook foto’s van andere schepen en het havenfront, een paar van het centrum en de eerste is van het huis waar we verbleven. In een schuurtje in de achtertuin weliswaar, maar alles was aanwezig. We zijn ook een avond naar de pub gegaan, waar de lokale bevolking rond tien uur knap onrustig werd. Instrumenten kwamen tevoorschijn en de sterren werden van de hemel gespeeld. Een van de mooiste folk shows die we ooit hebben gezien. Graag speciale aandacht voor the viking boot die op een van de foto’s is te zien. Zou het dezelfde zijn als de boot die je in de serie Shetland kunt zien, als Perez en Tosh op de pier staan.
