The Etang du Gendarme proved to be a lake overgrown with water plants. It was really difficult to get there as the path disappeared sometimes. From there the walk continued to the former moulin Manceau, which had a very idyllic lake and trout galore. The reservoir Ry de Rome on the other hand was all the way accessible, which was a good thing at temperatures of 30 degrees or more. It is located accross the border, in Belgium.
Het Etang du Gendarme bleek grotendeels vol gegroeid met waterplanten, net zoals het pad ernaartoe behoorlijk overwoekerd was. Maar de wandeling vandaar naar de voormalige watermolen Manceau was weer redelijk makkelijk. Het meer voor de molen was nog intact en zat vol met forellen. Het reservoir Ry de Rome was de andere kant qua bereikbaarheid, prachtige geasfalteerde paden, en dat was best wel lekker bij temperaturen van 30 graden. Het meer ligt in België, niet ver van de grens.
