A journey from Revin to Monthermé-sur-Meuse. We encountered the famous railway arch of Anchamps. Les Dames de Meuse is a rock formation where the valley is rather narrow. A bit further on a old house proved the real estates agents answer to the question which factors determine the price: location, location and location. In a swampy stretch alongside the river we saw sunbathing tortoises. We also did the brand-new part of a voie verte along the Semoi. Unfortunately this path was not entirely cyclist-friendly as it had more than 100 meters of elevation after about 10 kilometers.
Een trip van Revin naar Monthermé-sur-Meuse. We kwamen het beroemde spoorwegviaduct van Anchamps tegen. En de Dames van de Maas die verschrikkelijk tegenvielen. Maar de Maasvallei is daar wel erg nauw. Een verschrikkelijk mooi maar ietwat vervallen huis toonde de wijsheid van makelaars die op de vraag naar welke factoren de prijs bepalen steevast antwoorden met “locatie, locatie en locatie.” In een moerassig gebiedje zagen we nog een paar moerasschildpadden, vast import. In Monthermé hebben we een stuk van de vorig jaar geopende voie verte langs de Semoi gedaan. Wel teleurstellend dat die na pakweg 10 kilometer overging in een bergetappe van de derde categorie.
