To the north of Hirson lies the Etang de Pas Bayard, a lovely lake area with a small waterfall, but not exactly a touristic highlight. It makes for a nice round walk that leads to the outskirts of Hirson. The lake itself is rather popular with the locals, especially schools. In the weekends it will be crowded with picknickers, I guess.
Noordelijk van Hirson ligt het Etang de Pas Bayard. Het is een fraai meer dat een watervalletje voedt. Op zich is het meer geen toeristische trekpleister (maar wat wel in de Thiérache), maar het wordt druk bezocht door de locals, vooral door schoolklassen. In het weekend zal het vol zitten met picknickers. Het meer ligt op de route van een mooie rondwandeling die tot aan de buitenwijken van Hirson voert.
