At first we thought that the Canal des Ardennes would be to far. Normally we set the limit to a one hour drive by car. But luckily we discovered in time that the canal starts from the Meuse nearby. It proved a very relaxing bike trip with a tunnel as a highlight. The only weird thing was that the automatic lighting in the tunnel didn’t always see us, but that didn’t matter as the tunnel isn’t completely dark.
Thuis had ik uitgezocht dat het Canal des Ardennes te ver weg zou zijn. Want normaal willen we niet meer dat 1 uur rijden met de auto. Maar gelukkig ontdekten we op tijd dat het kanaal bij de Maas begint, vlakbij Sedan. Het bleek een heel relaxte fietstocht met als hoogtepunt een tunnel. Het enige rare was dat de automatische verlichting ons niet altijd zag. Maar echt aardeduister was het niet. Een gat in het pad zou echter wel vervelend zijn geweest.
