We went for a round walk and then we saw this very nice castle. When we arrived at the gatekeeper’s house a lady came out of the house to tell us that we could stroll freely around the castle grounds without paying an admission fee. Holy smokes, a castle like this and free entrance to the grounds. Entering the castle was however only possible on a guided tour which was already fully booked. We didn’t mind, there was plenty to see. A fairy tale castle beyond one’s wildest dreams.
Eigenlijk gingen we een wandeling maken rond het riviertje de Maye. Maar op de parkeerplek stonden we ineens voor een leuk kasteel. Toen we dichterbij waren, kwam er een vrouw uit de poortwachterswoning die ons vertelde dat het terrein vrij toegankelijk was. Om het kasteel van binnen te bekijken waren we te laat want de rondleiding met gids was al volgeboekt. Vonden we helemaal niet erg, want over het algemeen zijn kastelen gevuld met dezelfde ouwe troep. Nee, de buitenkant was meer dan genoeg, mooier wordt een sprookjeskasteel niet. En het gekke is dat het nog bewoond blijkt ook. We hebben echter niemand gezien.
